Galaxy Partners, Inc. recently advised Spectrum Brands, Inc. in Spectrum’s decision to relocate its headquarters office and research and development facility located in Madison, Wisconsin.  The advisory project included a multi-state search for a new location and resulted in the securing of a $4 million forgivable loan from the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation.

In cooperation with Kothe Real Estate Partners, Galaxy represented Spectrum in a long-term lease of a 210,000 square foot LEED certified facility in the Discovery Springs area of Middleton, Wisconsin.  Spectrum’s new, more economical and energy efficient location will house its Global headquarters, several additional North American operations, and its technology center.  The new facility is expected to be completed and occupied by end of 2013.

Spectrum Brands is a $3 billion global maker of consumer batteries, lawn and garden, specialty pet, and shaving and personal grooming products. Spectrum’s brands include Rayovac, Remington, Varta, George Foreman, Black Flag, and Cutter, among many others.
